Yamame

I found this beautiful ceramic plate for sale on an auction. It was described as a being an interesting Japanese painting on paper. When it arrived I unwrapped it and to my surprise it was made of ceramic with glass glazing with rich watery blues and silver colours. It reminds me of the Yamame I caught in Japan.

More Creepy Crawlies

The local streams are just full of these some as long as your pinky finger. These are a size 6 Tiemco 2302. This is a good hook size to imitate the slightly larger dobsonfly lavae. They are fun to tie and I'm looking forward to trying them early season.

Stonefly Nymph

Winter is here again and it's time to think of something new to tie, with some new materials. I'm trying to get a bit more realistic to fool those difficult trout. Align LeftNew Zealand has a big green stonefly. A real mouthful for a hungry trout.
