From Pig Skin to Aluminium.
The early NZ fly fisher adopted tried and true, old English patterns, many of which are still used today as a first choice for some older anglers. Partridge breast, Mallard wing, Peacock sword and herl were often used in these patterns. Wet flies were very popular as many anglers would fish early morning and evening hatches.
